Project 1

This is to be 1200 word minimum and I am looking for your thought process. The person you choose will give you some topic or reasoning to think about, this can be pro or con. If it is a negative direction, then explain why, what is your reasoning.

I am looking to see how far you can view technology and what your perception will be. I want you to think more than anything on this paper. Technology is going to impact our lives in many ways and these people listed above look at the many directions it could go. I do not want a biography of the person; you may want to add some items in your paper for reference. Meaning because of something in his/her childhood is why she went this direction. You are to think about what they said and search to see where they are at this point. These videos were made in 2002 so do look up and see what they are working on now or find out if they finished what they were working on in the video. I want at least one paragraph or about 50 words (out of 1200) of what they are doing today. When you see the interview some of it will be what they have accomplished but it will eventually talk about technology and how they see it impacting our lives. During the interview one or several fundamental questions will be asked and this is one area I want you to evaluate.

The timeline is to help me know when someone in your group has to have it turned into the group for review. Also it is to include any contact information that you want to give the group. Make sure you check this, at least twice a day. You will submit this in the Assignment link in Blackboard, only one person in group just make sure everyone’s name is on the document and it is properly labeled.

The layout of the grade is as follows:

30 points Thought process and response written in a professional manner. Could I follow easily through the paper?

45 points Did they follow the direction of what is expected. Did I see their opinion clearly in the paper?

10 points Was the timeline submitted properly and did the group stay on track? Due the next class after the DVD’s are passed out to the group.

15 points Layout of the paper (margins, font size etc..) did the layout match throughout the paper and was it professional.

Correct spelling and grammar is expected. I will take points off especially common errors. Writing Resource Center is required to review the paper and make sure you bring a copy of this paper so they will understand what the purpose is for the paper. You will turn in the slip of paper that the WRC gives you and make sure everyone in your group is named on the paper when you turn it into me. If you do not turn this slip in a deduction will be made on the group paper. If you have any questions just ask me. I can’t help you if I don’t know you are having trouble.

Reminder: If you want to switch and do another person or if the CD is damaged let me know. You will have plenty of time to listen to this CD/DVD before the due date, if you wait until last minute your grade will be reflected and no extension will be given. I will give out one DVD per group you should have about 1 ½ weeks to allow for all of you to view the CD/DVD.
